Dog wearing Valentine's Day dog bandana

Valentine’s Day is meant to be the most romantic day of the year

To be honest, I can’t stand it.

For many years I was on my own with Daisy so I would round up my fellow singletons for wine and Sex and the City marathons.

Now I finally have a boyfriend, you won’t find any soppy flowers or chocolates on my social media feeds - one year Tommy bought me an axe!

But Valentine’s Day is good for pups with so many pet brands creating lovely products for the four-legged loves of our lives.

Here’s ten fur-bulous ideas for February 14th gifts to suit every budget!

It’s handmade by 13Infinity, has over 300 crystals and is one of a kind, so no danger of rocking up at a pawty and seeing another pooch in the same outfit.

The Alexa Festivity collar is £250 at www.13infinity.co.uk

Plaque for dog lovers

4. If my dog doesn’t like you sign

How brill is this sign? Perfect for any dog owner to ward off weirdos who don’t like dogs!

Before meeting Tommy, my test as to whether a man was for me was to see how they were with Daisy.

This fab trinket is from Pudding and the PA, a gift website set up by welfare campaigner Lisa Garner who was instrumental in creating Lucy’s Law to stamp out puppy farming in memory of her dog Lucy.

Her accessories site is named after her rescue dog Plum Pudding who is continuing Lucy’s legacy and 10 per cent of profits go to help animal charities.

Yappy Valentine's meal for your pup

A romantic dinner with a portion for the pooch

J Lo once sang 'My love don't cost a thing,' and if you want to get in the good books of your other half without breaking the bank, how's this for romantic?

Cook a romantic meal and to make it really special, create a doggy friendly version of it for the doggy in your life!

Tommy made me my fave cottage pie (I know, so easy to please) and made Patch his own portion minus the onions and with watery gravy.

This is something best done at home...
